I am here to report, with great joy, that Joaquin is loving his new job at CapitalGroup. For those of you out of our loop: along with the whole married thing, my husband's life has taken a dramatic about face. This is after much prayer and counsel and lengthy discussion. I am really grateful for how flexible he is though all of this. You see, before he met me, he was fairly care-free: in part-time ministry, with full-time grad school, living at home with not so many responsibilities. (Yes, he was busy). He had ambitions and plans for full-time ministry in the near future. Then in pops me :). We do not feel that this has squelched those plans, God has just further devopled the plan. :) I believe God does that. He gives us a dream or a vision that we are to pursue, but we must hold it lightly. My Garcia family calls this "death of a dream." Meaning, as God leads in our life, He gives us dreams to pursue until the purpose of one is finished, and in its place another develops. We know that full-time ministry is in our future, Lord willing. So for now, we are taking care of business to make that next transition a good one. Joaquin changed graduate programs to finish sooner (he only has 11 units left!!), let go of his part-time job at the church and replaced it with this new full-time one. We are blessed.

OH YAY! I'm so happy to hear he likes it!!! Yay for the corporate world!!! :)
i love how you describe this: "as God leads in our lives, He gives us dreams to pursue until the purpose of one is finished, and in its place another develops."
we have seen God work this way in our lives. it can seem confusing until you realize that He hasn't wasted anything in our lives, but that He has a very different sense of timing than ours. glad he is loving his job and enjoying it as the blessing it is!
